PERSONAL: Hometown is Burnet, Texas … Attended Rotan High School as a freshman, then transferred to Burnet High, and was coached by his father (Bob) at both schools … Earned 2003 Parade All-America honors, and was named ’03 Class 3A state Player of the Year by Texas Football magazine … Earned degree from Texas in kinesiology in 2008, and was in graduate school while playing in 2009.
COLLEGE: Played four seasons (2006-09) at Texas, appearing in all 53 games with 35 starts … His 248 receptions topped previous UT record of 241 (Roy Williams), and he had 205 of his catches over his last two seasons … His three TDs on punt returns tied school record, and he also had a kickoff return for a TD … In addition to his standout special teams work as a returner, he was the holder for field goals and PATs … Named first-team all-American by Associated Press and Sporting News as a senior, when he set school records for receptions (116) and receiving yards (1485) … Had 10 catches for 122 yards and two TDs against Alabama in 2009 season national championship game, despite Longhorns’ loss of No. 1 QB Colt McCoy to a first-quarter injury … Entered UT program in 2004, but did not play in ’04 (due to knee injury) or ’05 (due to hamstring injury).
PRO CAREER: 2010 - Drafted by Bengals in third round (84th overall) … His only missed game was Oct. 10 vs. Tampa Bay, due to concussion suffered Oct. 3 at Cleveland … Started four games — when offense opened in three-WR formation ... Caught five-for-82 in NFL debut Sept. 12 at New England, including a 51-yarder in traffic on a Hail Mary attempt just short of goal line in second quarter … Led team with five catches (for 42 yards) Sept. 19 vs. Baltimore … Caught two-for-29 on Oct. 3 at Cleveland before suffering fourth-quarter concussion on a hit for which Browns were assessed personal foul penalty … Returned to action Oct. 24 at Atlanta and had first 100-yard game, catching six-for-131 including a 64-yard TD … Caught five-for-71 on Nov. 21 vs. Buffalo, both team bests … Led team with five catches (for 38 yards) Nov. 25 at N.Y.
